Puffin Facts

Last week we worked on Fact and Opinion to go along with our reading story! The students worked together to locate and record facts and opinions about the puffin. Each student then drew out their own puffin and tore pieces of paper to create a mosaic bird! The kids loved the project.....  they really did turn out beautiful!

Exploring Surprising Properties

Recently our class explored the physical properties of a plastic bag. The students made predictions as to what would happen if a pencil was poked through a plastic bag half filled with water. The students were amazed! We discussed how the bag changed after the pencil was poked through it!  We had fun with our observations and the end results!

* My favorite part: I had several students come back to school the next day and tell me that they tried the lab at home! I love when learning at school spills over into excitement at home!

 

Chimney Lakes Elementary will have another McTeacher Fundraising  night on Tuesday, January 17th from 5-8pm! This will be a great night as our teachers serve up the "happiest meals" in town! We had so much fun in November when we did this last! I served french fries and worked the drive thru! The kids loved seeing us and it was great seeing them too! I hope to see everyone there!
