Garden of Fun

Today we started to weed out our classroom garden! Next week we will be planting some flowers and sprucing it up! The kids REALLY got into pulling weeds at school! :) What a FUN day!

A Bunch of Smart Cookies

Thank You to our FCAT Buddies for a Cookie Cake to celebrate the END of FCAT! Mrs. Taylor and her First Grade class ROCK!

Thanks Buddies

Today our FCAT Buddies from Mrs. Taylor's First Grade class sent my third grade students sweet notes of encouragement before the big test! The notes said: " You don't need Luck taking the FCAT test! Your scores will be Over the Rainbow!" Each student had a cute little rainbow colored by a first grader and a bag of skittles attached! It was a great way to start testing! Thanks buddies!

FCAT Super Stars

I am so proud of how hard my class works everyday! It is a joy to be their teacher! Wishing them the best this week as they take the FCAT!

Covering The Walls

Today is the day that we have to cover up our Word Walls and Strategy Posters before our big test next week. Our class designed and decorated banners to cover it all up! The students worked together and made posters that read: "FCAT Stars Work Here," "Rocking a 5 on FCAT," and "We will Rock the FCAT!" It was such a fun way to cover it all up!

FCAT Explorer

We have been working in the Galactic Library on FCAT Explorer. It has been such a fun way to ramp up and sharpen our skills before the big test! Here are a few pictures from today!

FCAT Snacks

Wow! This year is flying by so quickly! We have started to focus on test-taking strategies in class in preparation for the FCAT. As a reminder, FCAT testing is Monday, April 16th - Thursday, April 19th. It is very important that your child is here every day for review! In addition, we know how important it is to create a comfortable environment for students. I would like to have special snacks for the students to enjoy each morning before/ after testing. The following is a list of suggested healthy snacks that can be donated. Please keep in mind that we currently have 18 students in our classroom. Thank you for any help you may be able to provide! ☺

Healthy Snacks:
· Juice boxes
· Applesauce/ Fruit cups
· “Gogurt” (Yogurt packages)
· Cereal/ Granola/ “Chewy” bars
· Carrots
· Bananas
· Muffins
· Trail mix
· Pretzels
· Crackers (Cheese or peanut butter)
· Cheerios/ dried cereals
· Raisins
· "100 Calorie” Snack packs
· Celery with peanut butter

Other suggested items:
· Mints (proven to help students “focus” before testing!)
· Paper plates
· Bagels/Cream Cheese
· Biscuits/ Jelly
· Fresh fruit

 * You may send donations in early! We have a refrigerator!
