Here is a great opportunity for you to learn more about ways to help your child at home! I hope to see you there!

New Lunch Time

We are excited to welcome several new teachers to our school! These teachers were added and class sizes have been lowered on several grade levels. With those changes our class lunch time has been moved back by 10 minutes. We will now go to lunch at 12:25pm-12:55pm each day. On early dismissal days our lunch will be at 11:40am-12:10pm. 

*Our class will have a working snack in the mornings to help stretch us to lunch. The snack must be healthy, quick and easy to eat. No spoons or spills please!

HW Helper

The HW Helper page has been updated for this week. I have included a direct link to our reading selection for the week and also an online game to practice our tested reading vocabulary words. :)

Hooray for Laptop Day

Today our class was able to work on laptops! Every child was issued a laptop and logged into the school network with his/her own username and password! I am thankful for a very tech savvy class. I had tons of little helpers and that made logging in a piece of cake! Our students were able to log in, find the internet browser, bookmark favorite pages get right to work!

 

We voted for our favorite subject on our class blog!

 

We logged into FCAT Explorer and worked on reading!

We even found our reading textbook online!

I could tell from the reactions of my students that Laptop Day was a hit! I am so excited to have them as another tool this year in our journey of learning!

McTeacher's Night CHANGED

  Come out to McDonald's in Argyle and see lots of your favorite CLE teachers serving up the "Happiest Meals" around or even working the drive thru!

Please note that CLE Fundraising Night (MCTeacher) has been changed to October 18th. See our class calendar for details.

I hope to see each family October 18th! We will have a great time together and also raise money for CLE!

FLORIDA FIRST LADY SEEKING FUN AND FAB STUDENT ART!

First Lady Ann Scott announces the Florida, Fun & Sun Student Art Contest, in partnership with Volunteer USA.

Students (K-8) should submit a colorful, original work of art depicting healthy Florida lifestyles for the mind and body! Artwork may be inspired by a wide range of images from favorite Florida places, outdoor activities, foods and state symbols, as well as families having fun together.

Entries must be post-marked by October 11, 2011 and mailed to:

Open House

Thursday, September 8th - Open House for 3rd-5th grades. 7pm-8pm

We look forward to having your family visit our classroom! There will be two sessions to accommodate those who may have siblings here at CLE.

Bruster's will be serving up shaved ice at Open  House. It will be $2 cash only. Our school will be able to keep $1 of each cup sold to use right here at CLE!
