Multiplication Secrets

Today we introduced multiplication in our class! We started off with two essential secrets!

Secret 1: The commutative property of multiplication.  The numbers(factors) in a multiplication number sentence (equation) may be put in any order. The answer(product) will be the same!

Example: A x B = C  (3x5=15)
                      B x A = C  (5x3 =15)

Secret 2 : Practice, Practice, Practice Don't worry! We won't learn all of our facts overnight! But with lots of practice we will get better every day!

We also introduced our 0's and 1's time tables! We sure do have bright students in room 78! We have all already learned these times tables! :)

Things to remember:
Zero multiplied by any number is always zero!  (0x1=0)
Any number multiplied by zero is always zero!  (1x0=0)

One times any number equals that number. (1x4=4)
Any number times one equals that number. (4x1=4 )

Here is a link to some extra practice games!  Remember Secret #2... We ALL need to practice!
